Remote sensing of harmful algal blooms

Remote sensing technology can be an excellent alternative to conventional water quality monitoring in at least monitoring harmful algal blooms.

There are several methods to take remote sensing reflectance, such as airborne-, UAV-, and Satellite-installed sensors. Various reflectance signals can be used to estimate the distribution of algal blooms through technical processing over wide areas with high time resolution.
